The 2023 Indy Hair Show Extravaganza is a vision realized by noted Master Hair Care Specialist, educator, haircare product creator, and Cosmetology School owner, Arthur Harris. Arthur currently works as a cosmetologist and works with current and aspiring beauty industry professionals to assist them in achieving their career goals. Textures Institute of Cosmetology has been a staple in the community and a contributor to Indiana’s workforce for 13 years. Arthur’s work has allowed him to witness the understated needs of the industry and the community. These experiences birthed Arthur’s vision and passion to bring the 2023 Indy Hair Show Extravaganza to the greater Indianapolis area.

The first event of its kind will be hosted in conjunction with the Madam Walker Legacy Center on September 16th and 17th 2023. The goal of this two-day event is to increase knowledge, stimulate growth and present talent and techniques that are utilized worldwide in the beauty culture industry. This event will attract individuals in the beauty and barbering industry from across the country and provide a platform for them to showcase, promote and sell their products and services. This will in turn, support and bring in revenue to our community. Education seminars will be provided free of charge to Cosmetology professionals and non-professionals alike, addressing multiple topics including haircare, nail care and ways to start and grow your business. 2 scholarships will be awarded to a Cosmetology and Barber student to attend Textures Institute of Cosmetology (a $40,000 value). There will also be a concert featuring some of Indy’s finest local talent. Finally, our hair competition will showcase the skillsets of several licensed professionals, giving them a forum to display their talents and creativity. Prizes will be awarded.
